As we continue an exciting chapter of growth, we need you to join us as a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Advisor to support in the maintenance, review and continuous improvement of Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) management systems.
In this role, you will be both a driver of and a hands-on contributor to the implementation of quality health, safety, and wellbeing (HSW) initiatives across WIC. You will provide supportive advice and guidance while also actively engaging in activities such as workplace assessments, incident investigations, risk assessments, injury management, reasonable workplace adjustments, and the management of internal WorkCover claims.
Utilising your expertise in health, safety and wellbeing, you will coordinate OHS training, induction, compliance, audits, reporting and management of the OHS risk register, and support leaders and employees to foster a culture of psychological wellbeing and psychosocial risk management. You'll also provide subject matter expertise and support to People leaders when it comes to injury management, including occupational rehabilitation and return to work matters.
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety or a related discipline will be required, or operational experience in health, safety and wellbeing.
- Knowledge and experience in OHS and HSW management systems, including psychosocial risk management, and continuous improvement in investigating and controlling risks to physical and psychological health.
- Knowledge of OHS and Wellbeing trends and relevant legislation such as the OHS and WIRC Act
- Strong emotional intelligence and resilience to effectively provide support to help navigate challenging situations and conflicts using empathy.
- The ability to review, amend, and develop relevant material aligned to best practice standards, and to ensure WIC meets its legislative obligations.
