About the role
Are you dependable, enthusiastic, and ready to make a real difference to patient care? South West Healthcare is looking for a Clinicians Assistant (commonly known and an Orderly) to join our Emergency Department. This hands on, fast paced role is vital to ensuring patients receive safe, timely, and comfortable care.
You will be at the heart of the department's operations, helping clinicians, supporting patient flow, and keeping the Emergency Department organised and efficient. No two days are the same — one day you may be assisting with patient transfers, the next restocking equipment or delivering critical pathology items.
What you will be doing
- Safely transport patients around the hospital (wheelchairs, beds, gurneys)
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and readiness of the Emergency Department
- Restock clinical supplies and equipment to support smooth operations
- Assist clinicians with low-level patient care tasks under supervision
- Perform internal courier duties, including delivering pathology and pharmacy items
- Stay alert to patient and staff safety, supporting infection-control and hospital procedures
- Contribute to the smooth running of a fast-paced, high-energy department
What we are looking for
- Flexibility to work morning, evening, and weekend shifts — variety is part of the job
- Enjoy working in a hands-on, active role, assisting with patient movement and departmental operations
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a positive “can-do” attitude
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong commitment to confidentiality
- Alignment with South West Healthcare's core values - Care, Respect, Excellence, Integrity and Leadership
What we offer
You will enjoy benefits such as:
- Excellent salary packaging options including meals & entertainment, novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions
- Internal and external professional development opportunities
- A range of internal development opportunities focusing on personal development such as resilience and mentoring workshops and comprehensive leadership programs
- Excellent terms and conditions of employment.
