About the role
Join ACMI as a Legal Advisor and work on a broad range of commercial law matters including: copyright, drafting, reviewing and negotiating agreements for licensing, sponsorships/partnerships, contractors, events, commissions, acquisitions, loans and other commercial transactions. Working with ACMI's Chief Counsel the Legal Advisor role also provides advice on classification, privacy laws, relevant legislation and assists staff with risk assessments.
What you'll bring to the role
- Bachelor of Law or equivalent legal qualification from a recognised tertiary institution. Admission to practice as an Australian Lawyer (or eligibility to gain admission). Current practising certificate under the Legal Profession Uniform Law (or eligibility to obtain a practising certificate).
- Your experience as a lawyer, with strong knowledge of copyright ideally with knowledge or experience in the film and television or arts sector.
- Good commercial acumen coupled with great communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse information concisely and provide pragmatic legal advice.
- Strong contract review, preparation and drafting skills.
