- Salary range: $90,871 - $101,868 (pro rata) plus super plus salary packaging
- Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model
About the role
In this role, you will be primarily responsible for providing high quality legal services in civil law matters with a focus on areas of law within the Economic and Social Rights Program, including NDIS, social security, residential tenancies, infringements, Worker Screening Act and coronial matters. You will provide legal advice, provide casework, and appear as a lawyer in various courts and tribunals to advocate for clients with civil and human rights issues.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner.
- Entitled to practise in federal courts and courts exercising federal jurisdiction (entry on the High Court's Register of Practitioners).
- Capacity to work as an advocate and caseworker in complex civil and administrative law matters.
- Knowledge of, or practical experience in, the areas of law within the ESR program, including social security, NDIS, residential tenancies, infringements, Worker Screening Act and coronial matters.
- Strong communication skills and experience working with people who come from a range of backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse communities, people with disability, people experiencing mental health issues and people experiencing social or economic disadvantage.
