Your new role
We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Finance team as an Accountant on a full-time fixed term (until 08/05/26) basis. Reporting to the Manager - Finance, the role will prepare and process IBAC's financial and accounting transactions, and contributes to the provision of quality financial services, information and advice across the organisation.
Duties include:
- Perform month-end accounting duties, including journal preparation and reconciliations, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare, analyse, and disseminate monthly Finance reports and data
- Corporate card administration.
- Establish monitoring and reporting and flagging any potential gaps for actions on IBAC's compliance with the Victorian Financial Management Compliance Framework pursuant to the Financial Management Act 1994 (FMA) and associated Standing Directions, including mid-year reporting to the Audit Committee. Proactively escalate issues to mitigate and prevent non-compliance.
- Support and involvement in relevant projects as required.

Our requirements / Your skill set
We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:
- Tertiary qualification in accounting (mandatory)
- Demonstrated knowledge of accounting standards, concepts, and policies - ideally gained within Victorian Public Sector (VPS).
- Membership or studying towards membership of CPA Australia /CA Australia
Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
Due to a conflict-of-interest IBAC is unable to accept applications for secondment from Victoria Police employees.
