About the role:
The Principal Developer supports the Communities and Families Portfolio, which is responsible for leading the development and implementation of various solutions and initiatives within the program.
This position requires a highly skilled developer with extensive experience and expertise across a broad range of technologies and application designs.
The Principal Developer is responsible for providing comprehensive application support, including system analysis, design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of domain-specific solutions hosted in cloud environments. Working closely with Product Owners, first- and second-level support teams, product vendors, and cloud partners, the Principal Developer provides third-level support to ensure timely and effective resolution of application-related incidents, problems, enhancements and service requests.

About you:
Can you demonstrate the following?
- Plan and participate in the transition of knowledge and application support from the project to the support team.
- Undertake application-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution, prevention measures or continuous improvement measures as appropriate.
- Participate in design, development and testing of application and reporting solutions.
- Solve complex technical problems and provide technical direction to other developers.
- Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive research and investigations.
- Ensure compliance with government, eHealth, and ETB strategies and policies by adhering to best-practice software development standards, including design, coding, documentation, and testing in line with PDM and other endorsed methodologies.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertis
Qualifications
- A relevant IT related degree or qualification will be highly advantageous to this role.
- Certification in PRINCE 2 or other project management methodology is highly desirable.
- Certification in ITIL methodology highly desirable.
- Agile project experience will be advantageous.
Specialist Expertise
General Experience
- Extensive experience as a Principal Developer within medium to large government or commercial organisations.
- Proven expertise in software design patterns, development standards, and application frameworks.
- Oracle - Integration - Saas Platform & Cloud Services - Reporting & Analytics experience is required
