THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Officer works as part of a team and will play a key role in facilitating Victoria's co-governance of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), alongside the Commonwealth and other states and territories as well as drive key NDIS legislative and policy development.
You will provide advice to Government on progressing priority areas relating to the NDIS including NDIS legislative instruments and NDIS Rules while ensuring Victoria's role as co-governors of the NDIS is maintained. The work to understand legislative instruments to support NDIS rule making is complex and face paced and requires sophisticated intragovernmental and interjurisdictional collaboration and leadership.
You will be responsible for coordinating and supporting Victoria's representation on officer and Ministerial level interjurisdictional forums supporting co-governance.
The Senior Policy Officer will liaise across the Victorian Government and with the Commonwealth and states and territories in order to determine and influence the broader disability reform agenda where it intersects with the NDIS. You will be required to demonstrate a sound understanding of intergovernmental processes, governance, and of legislation insutruments under the relevant NDIS Acts.
Drawing on your skills as an experienced Senior Policy Officer, you proactively develop strategic solutions and develop strong relationships across the Victorian Government and other states and territory governments. Working in close partnership with stakeholders, you will develop, analyse and coordinate complex information through liaison, negotiation and influence.
