About us:
At the Victorian Department of Health we want a future where Victorians are the healthiest people in the world. A Victoria where our children and people thrive, our workplaces are productive and safe, and our communities are more connected.
We see it as our job to support Victorians to stay healthy and safe. And to deliver a world-class healthcare system that ensures every single Victorian can access safe, quality care that leads to better health outcomes for all.
About you:
The Department of Health is seeking a highly capable Delivery Manager to lead complex technology and data initiatives within the Enterprise Technology Branch's Data Services Unit. This role is responsible for driving the successful delivery of projects that enhance the department's data capability, ensuring solutions are reliable, secure and aligned with strategic and operational objectives. You will work across multidisciplinary teams to translate requirements into actionable plans, oversee delivery cycles and ensure outcomes meet the needs of the organisation and the broader health system.
Strong project management expertise is essential. The role requires the ability to consult and influence stakeholders, develop clear and achievable project plans, manage risks and issues, and continually monitor progress to ensure delivery targets are met. You will be expected to draw on sound problem-solving skills by gathering relevant information, engaging the right people, assessing issues from multiple perspectives and recommending solutions that are practical and evidence-based. Implementing and evaluating these solutions is a key part of ensuring continual improvement and effective delivery.
Success will also depend on your ability to build productive relationships across the department. You will identify shared interests, understand organisational contexts and respond to the underlying needs of internal and external stakeholders. The role demands a partnership-focused mindset, with an emphasis on resolving issues proactively and developing approaches that support long-term, mutually beneficial outcomes.
Effective planning and organisation are central to this position. You will set clear objectives, establish appropriate processes and systems, and track progress to ensure delivery remains on course. Anticipating barriers and addressing them early will be critical in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift quickly.
This is an opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects that shape the department's data landscape. If you are driven, collaborative and committed to delivering meaningful results, we invite you to apply.

- Familiarity with health sector data systems or experience working in a health service environment is desirable but not essential.
On a personal level the candidate will be comfortable working with complexity, using strong conceptual and analytical skills to generate insights and innovative approaches while making sound, timely decisions even in uncertain situations. They will collaborate effectively with colleagues, respect diverse working styles, foster constructive team dynamics and actively support the growth and development of others through coaching, feedback and thoughtful delegation.
What we offer:
