Job Description
An exciting and unique opportunity exists for a talented and motivated individual to join the Public Administration Group, Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol Branch (SCEP) as Executive Support Officer at the Department of Premier and Cabinet.
The Public Administration group supports the Victorian Government and the DPC Secretary with expertise in public sector governance, strategic communication, protocol and intergovernmental relations, and advice on legal issues and legislation.
Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol (SCEP) branch provides specialist communication, engagement, and protocol support and advice to the departments, premier's private office and portfolio ministers. We centralise and lead campaign delivery, coordinate government-wide efforts, and set best practice standards within the VPS.
This Executive Support Officer role supports the executive leadership of the Strategic Communications, Engagement and Protocol branch, including diary management, stakeholder liaison, preparation of papers and management of inquiries. The role will also undertake project work under limited direction to support the executive to deliver key branch priorities.
To be successful in this role, you will possess sound judgement, excellent communication and strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in delivering a range of executive assistant and business support functions and proven skills in using and managing business systems, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to prepare briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language.
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills with the ability to identify key stakeholders and maintain effective working relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with the other members of the administrative team to provide integrated support for Branch needs across a range of roles and processes.
- Proven ability to be flexible and adaptable to adapt systems and processes quickly to changed priorities and situations.
