At the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC), we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.
As we embark on an exciting transformation journey, we need you to join us as a Switch & Correspondence Officer. In this newly created role, you'll be part of our collaborative Client Services team and will be the welcoming voice of WIC as the first point of contact for the general public and other interested parties. You will answer inbound telephone calls on the WIC public phone line, operate the switchboard, and monitor the general information inbox.
In this role, you'll be responsible for ensuring all enquiries are handled promptly, professionally, and accurately, or directed to the right person or team for resolution. Importantly as the first point of contact for WIC, you will be creating an accessible and respectful experience that leaves clients and stakeholders feeling heard, valued, and supported from their very first interaction. Please note that work hours will align with the Resolution Centre's operating schedule.
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Ability to manage a high volume of calls and emails while maintaining accuracy and service quality
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel), Lotus Notes mail and calendar applications
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to discretion and integrity, evidently trustworthy when in knowledge and possession of confidential and sensitive information and data
- Skilled in handling sensitive or emotionally charged situations with empathy and professionalism
