About us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
The Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) is a solution-focused court underpinned by principles of therapeutic jurisprudence and recovery-oriented mental health practice. ARC focuses on understanding and responding to underlying factors contributing to offending behaviour for people experiencing mental health and/or cognitive impairment
About the role
The Listings Registrar and ARC Coordinator supports court operations across jurisdictions, focusing on managing the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC) list. The role involves complex coordination, in-court duties, stakeholder engagement, and providing authoritative advice on court procedures, requiring sound judgment and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate ARC list operations, including caseload management, legislative compliance, and bench clerk duties
- Provide authoritative advice on court procedures and prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations for diverse audiences
- Represent the Court in internal/external settings and promote ARC through education and community engagement
- Collaborate with the ARC multidisciplinary team and stakeholders to ensure consistent practices and enhance court operations
- Build and maintain relationships with judiciary, legal professionals, police, government agencies, and community groups

About you
- Certificate IV in Court Services (or equivalent) or completion of the MCV Trainee Court Registrar program
