Position Details
THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Officer position provides a great opportunity for a high-performing individual to formulate strategic policy advice as well as to shape new service models for Aboriginal people experiencing or at risk of homelessness through research, analysis and co-design with Aboriginal community. You will be part of a small, dynamic fast-paced team which develops, evaluates and implements policies and key programs at a strategic level and liaises closely with those working at an operational level. You will have demonstrable experience of being a critical and analytical thinker; being proactive and organised; and having excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management skills.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Co-ordinate and where relevant lead meetings, such as current and future Working Groups, the Blueprint Steering Committee and other relevant workshops and forums, which includes developing meeting agendas, annotated agendas, minutes and (follow-up) action items.
- Oversee, monitor and/ or deliver on Aboriginal homelessness programs and program funding, including but not limited to the Aboriginal Homes First and the Aboriginal Tenants at Risk (ATAR) programs and self-determined homelessness funding to Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations (ACCOs); ensuring they are delivered on within scheduled deadlines and in accordance with relevant legislation, government regulations and guidelines.
- Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative solutions to complex and sensitive issues relating to Aboriginal homelessness reform.
