Position Details
THE ROLE
This role contributes to the development and implementation of strategic health, safety and wellbeing (HSW) projects and priorities with a specific focus on workers compensation, injury management and return to work systems, projects and process improvements.
The role will interface with a range of internal and external stakeholders requiring strong subject matter expertise and excellent written, interpersonal and verbal communication and problem-solving skills.
The role will be required to represent the HSW team at relevant internal and external forums, committees and working groups.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Develop and lead implementation of priority projects and systems in support of the HSW Strategy to address key HSW risks to the department, including but not limited to projects to improve workers compensation, injury management and return to work processes and outcomes.
- Provide sound and strategic HSW advice and expertise to a range of internal and external stakeholders related to workers compensation, injury management and return to work processes and a range of other HSW matters.
- Provide expert advice on compliance with Occupational Health and Safety and Workers Compensation legislation.
