Position Details

About the Role: 

The Manager, Registry Services is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end processing of practitioner applications, ensuring compliance with legislative and regulatory frameworks, and supporting the achievement of organisational objectives under the Building Act 1993.  

This includes managing the driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and developing team capability to deliver a positive applicant experience and uphold the reputation of the Building and Plumbing Commission. 

What we are looking for: 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and motivate teams to achieve strategic and operational objectives. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the Building Act 1993 and related regulatory frameworks, with experience providing high-quality technical and regulatory advice. 
  • Proven experience managing governance processes, including examinations, breach management, and ensuring integrity in assessment and advisory practices. 
  • Strong communication and consultation skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and influence decision-making. 
  • Experience in business planning, forecasting, and resource coordination to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services. 
  • A current registration or eligibility to hold building registration (highly desirable)

The Building & Plumbing Commission (BPC) is Victoria's regulator for building and plumbing.  

It supports the growing Victorian community through the developments of harms-based regulation that is proactive and informed by data and intelligence. The BPC regulates for better consumer outcomes and is committed to safety, compliance and buildings that last. 

The BPC's aim is to improve the experience for consumers in the building system by overseeing all aspects of building quality control – regulation, insurance and dispute resolution.
