About the role:
The Principal IM Manager leads a small team to coordinate and provide leadership and guidance based on advanced expertise in data and information management.
The role involves developing effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders including DFFH, Administrative Offices, portfolio entities, vendors and a range of program and policy areas within both departments.
The successful applicant will demonstrate sound leadership and people management skills, as well as an ability to influence others to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the Victorian health workforces and improve outcomes for Victorians.
About you:
We are looking for someone who can:
- Lead the ongoing uplift of information management maturity across the organisation, ensuring information is well-governed, discoverable, and used to support innovation and evidence-based decision-making.
- Represent the department on sector, state or national IM forums and ensure DH and DFFH interest and objectives on IM are communicated and maintained.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
- Identify emerging issues, risk and trends impacting on the successful achievement of key business objectives and imperatives and provide high quality business intelligence and sound recommendations based on comprehensive research and investigations.
- Strong critical analysis and reporting skills, high attention to detail, excellent writing skills and experience in managing stakeholder relationships.
Experience / Qualifications
- A strong knowledge of, and development and implementation experience of information management and/or data policies, standards, and related processes within organisation.
- Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory requirements relevant to information management, including privacy and records management.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing modern information management strategies and effective organisational policies.
- Proven ability to uplift information management maturity, build capability, and lead change across complex organisations.
- Skilled in translating business needs into practical IM solutions that support innovation and evidence-based decision-making.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in information management, systems, or technology.
