Position Details
THE ROLE
We are seeking applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals with a strong committment to working with vulnerable children, young people and families to join our People Practice Implementation and Partnerships team as a Manager on an ongoing, full time basis.
In this role you will demonstrate expert skills in child-centred family-focussed welfare practice, managing staff and establishing, managing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders. You will lead effective service delivery of child protection operations, strategic planning and performance reporting. This postion is also required to undertake rostered, oncall duties outside business hours which will attract penalty rates.
Essential to your success will be a recognised Social Work or Welfare related qualification/ or equivalent, excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills and the ability to operate well in a dynamic fast paced environment with competing priorities and commitments.

ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Effectively manage and provide leadership to child protection practitioners by: (a) modelling behaviours integral to departmental values (b) modelling behaviours integral to effective people management (c) providing supervision and performance management data Managers (d) ensuring collaboration with the business and practice streams of the program (e) leading and supporting individuals to achieve their potential while maximising their contribution to achieve their goals and outcomes (f) providing employees with relevant information and access to safe systems of work.
- Strategically plan and manage the delivery of the Statewide Child Protection Intake program and deliver on the service objectives by managing the financial, work organisation and staffing resources of the Program to ensure that program targets, performance objectives and statutory responsibilities are met.
- Take responsibility for relationship management outcomes including negotiating, developing and managing government, industry, public and community business relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders through departmental representation at industry forums and inter-agency committees, taskforces and government and non-government bodies to create mutually beneficial partnerships essential to the success of DFFH policy/program initiatives and government objectives in this sector.

WORKING IN RURAL VICTORIA INCENTIVE
External applicants relocating to a regional area could be eligible for up to $20,500 worth of incentives. Internal applicants relocating to a regional area could be eligible for up to $15,500 worth of incentives. If you live and work in an area classified as ‘remote' by the Australian Tax Office, you may also be eligible for additional salary packaging arrangements, such as mortgage interest, rental costs, and residential utilities.
