Position Details
THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager, HR Services the role will play a pivotal role in the provision of management, support and authoritative advice of delivery of HR services to managers and staff across the department. The role leads and motivates a team to provides effective and efficient services to internal clients.
The role manages a small team of staff who administer, provide advice and deliver the full suite of human resources operational processes ranging from recruitment, onboarding, contracts, conditions of employment, remuneration setting and formulating complex tailored HR advice.
The role will provide high-quality strategic People and Culture consultancy, advice and solutions to managers, employees and HR contacts across the department and administrative offices. In addition, this role will contribute support for deploying and implementing reform initiatives as well as provide significant support change management initiatives or projects.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead a team to effectively provide and contribute to authoritative, accurate, timely and expert advice and recommendations consistent with both organisational goals and values, and HR service excellence.
- Manage the allocation of resources within the team, and drive the output of the HR Services team to achieve operational goals, service aims and expectations.
- Effectively supervise and provide leadership to a team of employees by:
- leading and supporting individuals to achieve their potential, and enable team members to contribute to organisational goals and outcomes.
- modelling behaviours integral to good people management, respect, professionalism and departmental values.
- managing and monitoring specific improvement objectives in annual improvement plans relating to the area of responsibility.
- pro-actively building and maintaining positive relationships with peers and stakeholders across the organisation.
