About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.
Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

CCV
The County Court of Victoria is established pursuant to the County Court Act 1958. It has original and appellate jurisdiction and is the principal trial court in the State of Victoria. The Court hears over 12,000 criminal, common law, and commercial cases each year. The County Court has unlimited monetary jurisdiction in common law and commercial matters. In its criminal jurisdiction, the Court hears all indictable offences except treason, murder, and related offences.
There are a total of 80 Judges of the Court and over 300 staff, including judicial support staff. The County Court regularly conducts circuit sittings at 12 circuit courts situated in major centres throughout regional Victoria.

About the Role
Are you ready to join a passionate, dynamic and impactful team? The Victorian County Koori Court is looking for another sensational, ongoing Senior Koori Court Officer! The County Koori Court Unit is responsible for embedding self-determination initiatives, driving cultural safety activities and providing crucial services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people attending the County Court of Victoria. The day-to-day activities of the role are to:
- Ensure County Koori Court hearings run smoothly for the accused person to engage meaningfully in the sentencing conversation with Elders, Respected Persons and Judges
- Work closely with Elders and Respected Persons, Judges and Associates to ensure that the Court has all of the relevant information it needs to make decisions
- In collaboration with colleagues provide support to support Elders and Respected Persons' recruitment, induction, training and professional development
- Offer cultural advice and build cultural awareness throughout the organisation, including provision of secondary consultation to other Units across the County Court
- Connect and engage with communities across the eight County Koori Court locations to build understanding, trust, confidence and ownership of the County Koori Court
- Build and maintain relationships with local services to support County Koori Court participants by providing culturally relevant information and referrals
- Deliver court excellence by driving the continuous improvement and innovation of the County Koori Court model, systems and processes.
About You
The County Koori Court Unit is looking for a passionate and highly capable Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person with:
- sound knowledge of Victorian Aboriginal culture, society, and an ability to communicate effectively with Victorian Aboriginal people
- demonstrated experience in providing culturally sensitive support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants
- knowledge of the Victorian Justice system, particularly related to Koori justice, solution focused courts, and therapeutic jurisprudence
- proven written communication and stakeholder management skills with a strong customer focus
Note: This role is based in Melbourne but requires regular regional travel.
