Role description
Dhelkaya Health is seeking a motivated and detail‑focused Clinical Risk Coordinator to support the organisation in strengthening patient safety, clinical governance, and continuous improvement. This role plays a key part in maintaining high‑quality care by supporting an organisation‑wide clinical risk management framework and fostering a positive safety culture across all sites.
In this pivotal role, you will provide coordination, support, and clinical expertise to ensure effective management of clinical risk and incident reporting systems. Working closely with the Risk Manager, Quality team, and operational managers, you'll help drive best practice, support staff, and contribute to organisational learning and improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Management
- Assist the Risk Manager in coordinating the organisation‑wide clinical incident reporting system.
- Administer the Central Mortality Register and Medical M&M review system.
- Support the collection, evaluation, and reporting of clinical risk management indicators and audit outcomes.
- Coordinate and compile reports for ISR1 and ISR2 incidents, near misses, and adverse events for relevant committees.
- Provide advice and support to managers to identify, assess, and report clinical risk.
- Attend and contribute to organisational meetings as required.
- Assist in facilitating investigative reviews into adverse events and near misses.
- Contribute to preparation for external reviews, including accreditation, risk framework audits, and regulatory assessments.
- Coordinate and deliver staff training in the use of incident reporting systems.
- Work collaboratively with Quality team members and managers to support local clinical incident and complaints reviews.
Other Duties
- Participate in departmental meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and training.
- Undertake other duties as directed by the Risk Manager or Executive Director, Quality, Development and Improvement.
About you
- Tertiary qualifications in a health-related field or equivalent with experience in an acute health service setting.
- Knowledge of clinical governance, risk management, quality systems and accreditation processes.
- Proficiency in the use of VHIMS
- Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to engage and work collaboratively with managers and staff at all levels of the health service
