Job Description

Position overview
- Employment Type: Full time (80 hours per fortnight) with a monthly ADO, ongoing position

- Salary Range: $104,135.20 - $118,981.20 pro rata, plus superannuation
About the role
This role provides specialised psychosocial support to women and families during the pregnancy period, with a focus on early identification and management of risk and psychosocial needs. Key responsibilities include mental health screening, family violence response, complex risk assessment, and care coordination for women with high-risk or complex needs.
You will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership and consultation to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring integrated, high-quality, woman-centred care across the perinatal continuum.
Your key responsibilities
- Conducting psychosocial screenings and risk assessments
- Providing counselling, mediation, and therapeutic interventions
- Liaising with various healthcare disciplines to ensure continuity of care
- Offering expert consultation on family violence, child protection, and infant safety
- Supporting women with emotional, physical, and cultural well-being
What you bring
- Eligibility for AASW membership with minimum of 7 years' post-qualification clinical experience in perinatal, women's health or a women and children's settings.
- Advanced skills in perinatal psychosocial assessments and mental health screening, early intervention and prevention and counselling skills.
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice and relevant legislation (Family Violence, Child Safety, Information Sharing, Mandatory Reporting).
- Expertise in perinatal risk assessment and complex care coordination.
- Experience providing specialist consultation and leadership in multidisciplinary settings.
- Ability to deliver clinical supervision, education and professional guidance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for women and families within complex clinical environments.
