Australia's largest public museum organisation is seeking a Learning Facilitator - Outreach to facilitate learning programs and workshops to audiences unable to attend a Museums Victoria venue in regional Victoria and Greater Metropolitan Melbourne, as part of the Museums Victoria Outreach Program.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Our mission is to bring the wonders of Museums Victoria to every corner of Victoria. As we embark on this journey of outreach, we are seeking an individual who is passionate about facilitating learning programs and workshops that will inspire and engage diverse audiences. Through this position, we hope to bring the unique vision and mission of our Museums to life, and help every member of our community experience the joy of discovery.
Some of the key duties include:
- Facilitate learning programs, workshops and shows for education booked groups (primarily four-year-old kindergarten groups and primary school groups) and the general family audiences using professional judgement to optimise learning for diverse audiences in regional Victoria and Greater Metropolitan Melbourne.
- Use contemporary digital tools to support and deliver engaging educational experiences both virtually and face-to-face, including troubleshooting and device management.
- Set up, pack up and assist in maintaining materials and resources used in the delivery of programs, workshops and activities and initiate improvements as required.
- Under direction, collaborate in the development of programs, including research, crafting scripts and activities, sourcing and preparation of materials etc.
- Provide feedback on audience response to programs, implement evaluation tools and participate in debriefs for audience evaluations and customer service purposes, as required.
- Work collaboratively with other Museums Victoria departments for the day-to-day delivery of programs
The successful applicant will have:
- Demonstrable experience facilitating programs, workshops, or shows for diverse audiences, with the ability to respond to audience needs.
- Well-developed communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Awareness of current education and learning techniques for diverse audiences, including the needs of early years and primary school audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret science and/or history concepts for diverse audiences.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams, including collaborating with multiple project leaders.
- The ability to take responsibility for their own performance and manage their work and time effectively
OTHER INFORMATION
This is a Part-time 0.4 FTE (minimum 30.4 hours per fortnight); Ongoing position. The salary on offer is $70,086 base of grade (per annum, pro rata) + 12% superannuation.
