About the role
Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) is undergoing a significant digital transformation which will fundamentally change how the organisation operates to allow us to work smarter, be more efficient, support our partners and ultimately offer the best services to our clients.
This role represents an opportunity for an information management professional to assist in developing a new capability for digital records management at VLA, contribute to the adoption of digital work practices, coordinating digital mail processes, and communicating with VLA staff and suppliers to ensure information is available in a timely way in line with our customer and legislative requirements.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience with imaging projects, converting hard copy records to digital formats.
- Demonstrated experience interacting with commercial offsite storage providers and managing supplier relationships.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads, meet timelines and work under pressure.
- Experience using web-based document and records management systems.
- Highly developed communication skills, both written (including drafting and preparation of business documents such as reports, training materials), with the ability to liaise and engage with all levels of staff.
- Understanding of Public Record Office Victoria (PROV) standards and legislation and its application to ensure digitisation compliance.
- Ability to provide client focused services in a complex, confidential and sensitive environment.
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly to ensure sound understanding and working knowledge of VLA's client database.
- A knowledge of the general business of VLA and a commitment to our vision and values.
