About the role
Join our dynamic team at South West Healthcare's Surgical Service Unit (SSU) as an Associate Nurse Unit Manager! We're expanding and are seeking motivated skilled and experienced Registered Nurses to provide day to day leadership and management in our fast-paced surgical environment.
As an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day operations in our Surgical Services Unit, catering to a diverse range of surgical and medical patients, including orthopaedics, plastics, urology, and general surgery. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team, maintain a positive work environment, and deliver high quality care to patients and their families.
This role will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager in the promotion and maintenance of clinical standards, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care, strategic and effective cost management, supervision of staff and contribute to the overall management of the unit.
What you bring
- A Registered Nurse holding a current registration as required by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- A minimum of four years post graduate nursing experience, two of which must have occurred recently in the acute setting
- Demonstrated excellent clinical assessment skills and evidence of recent advanced nursing care of patients
- Demonstrated strong clinical, safety and professional standards within the area of professional application
- Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing
- Demonstrated ability in decision making, role model, problem solving and supervising staff
