About the role
As Financial Controller, you will lead, mentor and develop the Corporate Finance team while overseeing key corporate accounting functions including financial reporting, statutory compliance, audits and month and year-end close processes.
Reporting to the General Manager of Corporate Services, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and strengthening financial controls across the organisation. You will also provide insightful analysis and recommendations that support informed decision-making and continuous improvement across finance operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance leader to influence financial governance, drive process improvement and contribute to the delivery of State Trustees' finance strategy.
Skills and Experience
- CA or CPA qualification
- Strong experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting and statutory compliance
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop finance professionals
- Experience managing month-end and year-end financial close processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial systems capability
Experience with Oracle Financials and/or audit and assurance knowledge with large corporates will be highly regarded.
