Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria and comprises the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division. The Court deals with major criminal and civil matters, plus appeals against decisions of lower courts.

About the Role
The Supreme Court of Victoria is seeking an experienced and dedicated legal professional to join the Probate Office as the Deputy Registrar of Probates. This role offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to the administration of justice, contribute to overseeing one of the Court's highest‑volume jurisdictions, and exercise delegated judicial power at a specialist level.
Key accountabilities include:
- Exercising delegated judicial powers of the Court by issuing legally binding directions and orders in the Probate jurisdiction.
- Assisting the Registrar in overseeing the operations, governance and strategic direction of the Probate Office.
- Providing authoritative legal and procedural guidance on complex probate matters to staff, the profession and court users.

- An effective leader who can mentor and develop Assistant Registrars and build a high‑performing team culture.
- A clear communicator with excellent judgement, resilience and a commitment to public service and procedural fairness.
