About the role
This role is responsible for supporting the Finance Business Partners by providing generalist support and advice to the business, maintaining various financial models and templates, compiling internal and external performance reports and contributing to the month-end, forecast and budget process.
The role also involves supporting the wider Finance and Service Performance team to inform Victoria Legal Aid's (VLA) long term financial strategy. This includes delivering key data insights and reports (including financial and economic analysis, discrete data projects, benefits realisation analysis). It also involves leading improvements to data and information capture, sharing, quality control and management.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information from numerous sources, prepare and present analyses, deal with challenges creatively and achieve business-focused solutions.
- Detail focus, identifying gaps in information, looking for logical sequences of information, highlighting practical considerations of plans and activities, and preparing documentation and strategies that convey ideas clearly and succinctly.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines with accuracy.
- Strong stakeholder skills, including the ability to build mutually beneficial partnerships and work across VLA to achieve outcomes through negotiation and persuasion skills.
