About the role
The Finance Business Partner is responsible for delivering a range of financial and service output performance support functions, including planning, modelling, analysis and reporting. The role works closely with the business to provide accurate and timely high-level advice and support to the Senior Leadership Team, managers and staff to ensure Victoria Legal Aid's (VLA's) business outcomes are met within relevant legislative and regulatory frameworks. The role partners with the organisation to advance the financial capability of managers, and will develop, prepare and analyse key financial reports to ensure that the organisation's managers are equipped to make key strategic decisions and achieve objectives aligned to VLA's business plans.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills including excellent written and verbal communication, and a demonstrated ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills including proven experience in meeting deadlines with precision and accuracy.
- Client focused approach including a passion for VLA's vision and values and demonstrated ability to develop a sound understanding of organisational strategy and business plans.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in business or finance and is a professionally qualified accountant (member of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants) (mandatory)
- Experience with Finance One accounting system (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience working with First Nations Australians and understanding of cultural norms and communication styles (desirable).
- A knowledge of the general business of VLA and a commitment to our vision and values.
