About the Role:
Are you an experienced plumbing professional who enjoys solving complex technical issues and sharing knowledge?
As a Senior Technical Advisor, you will play a critical role in delivering expert plumbing advice across the organisation and external stakeholders.
Working closely with internal teams, industry stakeholders and government partners, you'll help position the BPC as a trusted regulator, supporting practitioners to deliver compliant, high‑quality work across Victoria.
What we are looking for:
To succeed in this role, you'll bring strong technical expertise, sound judgement, and excellent communication skills, as well as:
- Current licence or registration for prescribed plumbing work under the Building Act 1993 (VIC)
- Strong knowledge of the plumbing regulatory framework, including the Building Act, Plumbing Regulations, and National Construction Code
- Experience providing high‑quality technical advice and negotiating effective outcomes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including preparing technical reports
- The ability to build trusted relationships with industry and internal stakeholders

About the BPC
Established in 2025, the BPC is Victoria's new independent regulator for the building and plumbing industries. The BPC brings together the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria (DBDRV), and the domestic building insurance function of the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) into one organisation.
Key functions related to building and plumbing regulation have come together under one roof, including registration, inspection and compliance, practitioner discipline, dispute resolution, and domestic building insurance.
