• Salary $138,631 - $162,076 plus 12% superannuation – VPS Grade 6.1

The opportunity

This role leads the Business Partnering team to support SRO senior leaders in making informed decisions through coaching, development, and business insight.

The role leads the HR Business Partnering and workplace relations function for the SRO in a unionised, positively engaged environment. This includes being the first key escalation point for complex and sensitive workplace relations matters and monitoring the external environment for emerging employment risks.

The Lead HR Business Partner will conduct and allocate portfolio activities and projects amongst the team (e.g. emerging HR issues, strategic projects, policy/procedure, line manager development).

In addition to these functions, the Lead HR Business Partner will have a portfolio of clients to provide direct business partnering support which includes.

• Building and maintaining relationships with SRO leaders to understand stakeholder issues and advise and coach on effective people management practices.
• Providing employee relations and case management services to senior managers in sensitive confidential performance management and misconduct matters.
• Initiating research, preparing reports and data analysis and making recommendations for innovative and practical solutions and associated implementation issues for new and amended HR policy and workforce planning processes.

 

Who we are looking for

To be successful in this role, you will have:

1. Proven contemporary experience and qualifications across diverse HR functions in a large, complex organisation, including employee and industrial relations, HR business partnering, strategic HR management, talent acquisition, policy and procedure development, diversity and inclusion, data analysis, and executive reporting.
2. A demonstrated record of building and leading high performing, multi-disciplined teams, preferably within the public sector.
3. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources to successfully deliver impactful cross organisational HR, policy, organisational development and change management projects and initiatives whilst maintaining high levels of service delivery and people leadership.
4. Excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills to build and maintain respectful collaborative and effective relationships with stakeholders and customers at all levels.
5. Demonstrated commitment to the Victorian Public Sector Values of Responsiveness, Integrity, Impartiality, Accountability, Respect, Leadership and Human Rights.
