About the role:
Looking for work that is both challenging and deeply rewarding? This is an exciting opportunity to join our Hamilton Campus as part of a passionate and dedicated mental health team, making a real difference when it matters most.
As a Mental Health Clinician in South West Healthcare's Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Team, you will play a vital role supporting individuals experiencing acute suicidal distress or recovering from a suicide attempt. Working closely with consumers over a three-month period, you will deliver compassionate, recovery-focused care tailored to each individual's needs.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver evidence based, person-centred care
- Support recovery journeys through a structured 3 month engagement
- Provide tailored biological, psychological and social interventions
- Work collaboratively within a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team
The HOPE program supports individuals aged 16 and over, providing timely, meaningful care when it's needed most and helping people reconnect with supports and pathways to recovery.
Some shifts are undertaken outside standard business hours; however, rosters are provided at least one month in advance, allowing for both variety and forward planning.
What you bring
- Qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy
- Current AHPRA registration (or AASW eligibility for Social Workers)
- Experience in mental health clinical settings
- Strong understanding of recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication, assessment, and documentation skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
