About the role
Working closely with the Associate Director, Independent Mental Health Advocacy (IMHA) this position will coordinate the design, development and implementation of supported decision-making tools for the mental health and wellbeing sector and other IMHA projects, including resources.
This position will also be responsible for the creation of new tools, processes and systems as well as review of existing ones to support services to embedded Supported Decision making. The role will also work as part of IMHA Project team to support IMHA continued provision of the Opt Out service and mental health Advocacy.
About IMHA
IMHA is a state-wide advocacy service that support people who are receiving, or at risk of receiving, compulsory mental health treatment to make decisions and have as much say as possible about their assessment, treatment and recovery.
The service is independent, free and confidential and are based in nine offices across Vicotria. IMHA has lived experience of the mental health system and/or issues embedded in the service with a Senior Consumer Consultant and a consumer advisory service – Speaking From Experience (SFE).
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in project management, including developing a plan and working within a project management framework, assessing resource needs, developing and delivering training and resources, and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to use those skills to influence and negotiate with people across all levels and demonstrated experience in building collaborative relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and writing skills with the ability to assimilate and convey information and ideas in a clear, logical and concise manner, particularly in reviewing existing literature/resources and revising training modules and delivering training.
- Demonstrated experience in overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of systems, processes and projects that facilitate the delivery of high quality non legal advocacy services.
