About this role

• The Strategy and Policy division within Emergency Management Victoria develops effective strategies, policies, and legislative frameworks to support emergency management preparedness, response, relief, and recovery in Victoria. The division collaborates across Emergency Management Victoria, government bodies, agencies, communities, and businesses to implement improvements and reforms that promote safer and more resilient communities.
• This is achieved by providing essential foundations for the sector, volunteers, and communities, such as supporting reviews and inquiries, managing grant funding, implementing disaster-recovery funding arrangements for Victoria, and ensuring initiatives meet community needs and sector outcomes.
• The Director Recovery Strategy and Policy leads and coordinates recovery strategy and policy, including ministerial and parliamentary processes; providing authoritative advice on current and emerging issues; and leading engagement with the Commonwealth and other jurisdictions.
• The position also leads implementation of the recovery funding strategy and oversees the organisation's assurance and continuous improvement function, and philanthropic engagement and coordination of donation management.
