- Salary: $142,105.60 pro rata, plus superannuation
About the role
South West Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to lead our Paediatric Unit at Warrnambool Campus.
This is a key leadership role responsible for the operational and clinical management of the unit, including oversight of staffing, resources, and service delivery. You will foster a collaborative, patient-centred environment and ensure high-quality, evidence-based care for children and their families.
Working closely with the broader nursing and midwifery leadership team, you will drive continuous improvement, champion best practice, and lead a culture of excellence across the unit.
What you bring
In conjunction with the Position Description's selection criteria, the successful applicant must be able to demonstrate the following key requirements.
- A Registered Nurse holding a current Registration Certificate as required by AHPRA.
- A minimum of three years nursing management experience (as a NUM or Associate NUM).
- Expert knowledge of clinical systems that promote safe patient care.
- Experience in human resource management including recruitment, workforce and performance planning.
- Demonstrated problem / conflict solving, team building, role model and change management skills.
- Demonstrated experience in the ability to lead, consult and establish relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including proven negotiation and delegation skills, to cultivate productive working relationships.
Desirable:
- Relevant post graduate qualifications or willingness to complete.
