Position Details
THE ROLE
The Senior Policy Adviser - Grants is responsible for supporting effective and efficient grant management to achieve government policy objectives, maximise outcomes for the community and ensure alignment with government policy and practice requirements. This includes consulting across DFFH grant program areas and with other government stakeholders to remain up to date on operational requirements and directions.
You will make a major contribution to the strategic directions of the team by providing authoritative advice on the design and management of grants, and assisting portfolio areas to understand and apply the department's grant related policy and resources.
You will also take a lead role in the management of the Granst360 platform, proactively identifying and managing system enhancements, promoting the adoption of Grants360 across the department, supporting the procurement of software as a service that underpins system functionality, and trouble shooting operational issues identified by Grants360 users.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide expert advice on grant management practice and directions to inform the strategic work of the team and ensure DFFH grant making continues to align to state government directions and identified best practice.
- Develop and maintain an expert knowledge of Grants360 to troubleshoot operational issues, ensure the effective and efficient use of the platform, and identify and lead system enhancement priorities in conjunction with the Manager Procurement Governance and Grants, and technical support partners.
- Apply a risk and opportunity focussed approach to Initiating and delivering activities to strengthen grant management practice including by:
– Actively contributing to the enhancement of the DFFH Grants Hub to respond to operational demand
– Refining training materials and user guides and delivering training to management and executive staff
– Providing expert advice in response to enquiries made through the grants policy inbox.
