Position Details
THE ROLE
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, the Senior Policy and Project Officer in the Social Inclusion team leads the delivery of policy advice, programs and initiatives to improve social inclusion and community participation in Victoria.
Reporting to the Manager, Social Inclusion, this senior role requires a flexible approach working across multiple work streams including the Neighbourhood House Coordination Program, Men's Shed Funding Program and other place-based social infrastructure programs and projects.
The role also supports delivery of government's Victorian Volunteer Strategy to uplift and increase volunteering across the state.
The role requires leadership skills to ensure a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team culture. Strong policy and project management skills, a well-developed working understanding of how to embed self-determination and inclusion principles, and the ability to produce high-quality and timely government products with a high degree of autonomy are key to success.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Provide authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative options to address complex and systemic economic inclusion and carer support issues, based on comprehensive data, evidence, and stakeholder consultation.
- Undertake data analysis and modelling that contributes to the development of strategic reform, budget strategy and social investment options and recommendations to enhance economic inclusion and carer support in Victoria.
- Develop, manage and evaluate complex policy and program initiatives that meet government and departmental objectives within resourcing, timeline and budget parameters, including effective and proactive identification and management of risks.
