The impact you'll have:
At the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC), we've helped thousands of injured workers and employers to resolve their disputes and move forward with their lives. We're a robust Victorian Government statutory authority that's making an impact.
As we continue through an exciting transformation period, we need you to join us as a Senior IT Project Manager. In this role, you will lead one of WIC's most significant transformation initiatives – the delivery of our new enterprise case management system. This high-profile program will modernise core business operations, enhance service delivery, strengthen organisational capability and support WIC's long-term strategic objectives. Reporting to senior leaders and working across the organisation, you will take end-to-end ownership of the program, leading delivery from planning and governance through to implementation, transition and benefits realisation.
This role requires a strategic and commercially astute project leader who can confidently navigate complex stakeholder environments and drive outcomes across business and technology functions. You will partner with executives, subject matter experts, SaaS vendors and delivery partners to align priorities, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure successful delivery within agreed scope, budget and timelines. Beyond implementation, you will play a critical role in ensuring change is embedded across the organisation, driving business readiness, user adoption and sustainable improvements that deliver lasting value for our people, stakeholders and service users.
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong track record of successfully delivering complex IT projects in dynamic environments, with demonstrated accountability for outcomes across the full project lifecycle.
You will also have:
- Demonstrated experience leading small to large-scale IT projects with significant organisational impact
- Strong capability in project planning, scheduling, budgeting and resource management
- Proven ability to apply appropriate delivery methodologies (predictive/waterfall, agile or hybrid), tailoring approaches to project context
- Experience establishing and operating project governance, including reporting, risk, issue and change management
- Strong leadership capability, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders without direct authority
- It is essential to have a relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Business, Project Management or related discipline
