Position Details
THE ROLE
The Manager, Strategic Engagement and Communications leads the development and delivery of the Communities and Families Service Transformation Program's strategic engagement and communications approach, ensuring stakeholders are informed, engaged, and mobilised to support the successful delivery of the transformation.
The role will develop and implement integrated engagement and communication strategies that build understanding of the reform vision, strengthen partnerships across government and the community sector and distil confidence in the transformation journey. Working in collaboration with senior leaders, the role ensures communications are purposeful and aligned to the changing stakeholder needs over the program lifecycle.
The role provides strategic advice on stakeholder engagement, issues management and communication approaches for complex reform activities, ensuring clarity, consistency of messaging, transparency, and timely information sharing. In addition, the role will support executive leaders to engage with Ministers, departmental executives, partner agencies, funded organisations, and other key stakeholders.
The role will lead, as needed, the development of budget bids, Cabinet submissions and papers and briefings suitable for informing senior executive and ministerial decision making. The position will require excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a strong understanding of policy and budget setting processes. The role holder will also have the skills and ability to work collaboratively and use initiative to support delivery in a fast-paced and changing policy environment.
ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE
- Lead the planning, resourcing, implementation, and evaluation of engagement activities for the Communities and Families Service Transformation Program.
- Lead and motivate others to achieve the communications and engagement objectives for the Communities and Families Service Transformation Program.
- Underpinned by best practice engagement methods, bring contemporary and innovative approaches to communications strategies that push boundaries to maximise effectiveness and are measurable for impact.
