Salary per hour: $56.61 + superannuation + generous salary packaging options

Employment Type: Ongoing part-time 16 hours per fortnight

Award: Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024 -2028

Role description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Infection Prevention and Control professional to lead and coordinate infection prevention, control, and staff health initiatives across the organisation.

In this role, you will:

• Lead the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and staff health programs, supporting organisational priorities and best practice standards.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary strategies and quality improvement initiatives to prevent, monitor, and manage healthcare-associated infections.
• Provide expert guidance, education, and support to staff, patients, carers, and medical practitioners on infection prevention and control matters.
• Monitor infection surveillance data, identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvement activities that promote patient and staff safety.
• Foster strong collaborative relationships across the organisation and work closely with clinical leaders, managers, medical practitioners, and external healthcare partners to achieve excellence in infection prevention and control.

You will work in partnership with the Director of Clinical Services, Nurse Managers, Department Heads, Medical Practitioners, all CDH staff, and external healthcare agencies to support a safe and high-quality care environment.

About you

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and hold a current registration certificate
• Minimum of 3 years post registration experience in an acute care setting
• Relevant post graduate qualifications in Infection Prevention and Control or willingness to work towards Statement of attainment of Immunisation for Registered Nurses or willingness to work towards
• HHA Gold Standard Auditor or willingness to work towards
• Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control Certificate or working towards
