Principal Epidemiologist, Vaccine Preventable and Respiratory Disease

About the role: 

The Principal Epidemiologist leads a small team responsible for overseeing statewide epidemiology and surveillance functions of communicable diseases, with a particular focus on vaccine preventable and respiratory diseases.

This position involves providing authoritative technical and strategic advice to senior departmental staff relating to surveillance and epidemiology, leading complex projects, and analysis and reporting of epidemiological data for the networked public health system to guide policy and strategic priorities at state and national levels.

About you:

• Postgraduate qualification in epidemiology
• Demonstrated extensive experience with public health surveillance
• Demonstrated extensive knowledge of, or experience in, communicable disease epidemiology
