About the role
This role is responsible for the design, development and implementation of innovative family violence community legal education projects, as well as engagement with people with lived experience of family violence to enhance and improve family violence service delivery. This includes monitoring, reporting and evaluation, internal and external stakeholder engagement, and activities to promote continuous improvement through project learnings.
In particular, this role will focus on:
- The production of 1-2 sets of family violence focused Community Legal Education resources per 12 months in collaboration with VLA, community legal centre staff and other subject matter experts, that are informed by lived experience expertise.
- Establishment of a community engagement and community legal education community of practice within Family, Youth and Children's Law.
This role is based at our Melbourne CBD office on Wurundjeri Country.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will possess:
- Project management experience.
- Significant experience in organising and delivering family violence community education initiatives, community engagement projects and developing and maintaining relationships with community organisations.
- Knowledge and understanding of supporting lived experience engagement within projects and service design to ensure services are client-centred, trauma-informed and address intersectional experiences of discrimination.
- A tertiary qualification in law, public policy, social work, project management or a related field (highly desirable).
- Demonstrated experience working with First Nations Australians and understanding of cultural norms and communication styles (desirable).
