What you will do

As Assistant Manager, Health Records, you will help manage access to health records.

You will guide staff and improve processes for handling records requests.

You will:

• coordinate staff to support the safe and lawful release of health records.
• develop and maintain clear standards and processes for managing health record requests.
• provide advice and reports on complex and sensitive information sharing matters.
• work with health, legal and government partners to resolve issues and manage risks.
• lead staff, build capability and support efficient and inclusive ways of working.

About you

A tertiary qualification in health records management, law or a related field is highly desirable. Eligibility for membership of the Health Records Management Association of Australia is also highly desirable.

You should also have:

• knowledge of the Freedom of Information Act 1982, Health Records Act 2001 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014.
• experience giving authoritative advice on health records management policies and strategy.
• strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risks and improve processes.
• the ability to communicate clearly, lead people and work well with diverse groups.
