Position Details
About the role:
The Senior Data Analyst operates in a complex and dynamic environment, using a range of systems and data sources to deliver on the Health Complaints Commission's (HCC) strategic and operational data requirements. As the organisation's data subject matter expert, the role provides trusted advice, analysis and insights to support informed decision-making across the HCC.
This role employs analytic and data visualisation techniques to extract, collate, analyse, interpret and present data in accessible and meaningful ways. The position requires a broad range of skills across data extraction, preparation, transformation, modelling, analysis and reporting, including data extraction from Resolve and the development and maintenance of Power BI reporting solutions and dashboards.

About you:
- Highly experienced in analysing complex datasets and translating data into clear, actionable information for diverse stakeholders.
- Apply advanced data management, analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver meaningful organisational insights.
Qualifications:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in data science, business analytics or equivalent would be desirable.
Specialist Expertise:
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in a range of databases and systems including advanced Excel, Power BI and SQL for reporting and analysis, with the ability to develop dashboards, reporting products and communication materials that translate data into meaningful insights.
