About Us
Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

About the Role
Play a vital role in the Magistrates' Court of Victoria's response to family violence and help create safer outcomes for victim survivors and families.
The Family Violence Applicant Practitioner (FVAP) is integral to the Court's response to family violence. Working within the specialist family violence jurisdiction of the Magistrates' Court of Victoria, you will form part of a dedicated team comprising the Family Violence Registrar (FVR) and Family Violence Respondent Practitioner (FVRP). Together, the team works to enhance the safety of women and children experiencing family violence while supporting the Court's efforts to hold perpetrators accountable for their actions.
In this impactful role, you will provide specialist support to people experiencing family violence, assess immediate safety risks, develop safety plans, and connect clients with appropriate services for ongoing support. You will work closely with court staff, police, legal practitioners, community agencies and support services to ensure coordinated and effective responses for those attending court.
About You
You are an experienced and compassionate practitioner with specialist knowledge of family violence and a strong commitment to supporting victim survivors. You are confident working with people in crisis, undertaking risk assessments, and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
You will bring:
- Relevant qualifications in social work, psychology, social sciences, or related field, in addition to demonstrated strong experience working with people who have experienced family violence.
- Demonstrated experience completing comprehensive MARAM aligned risk assessments and safety planning.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in the provision of support, crisis containment, risk assessment, and case coordination.
