Position Details

IBAC is Victoria's anti-corruption agency responsible for preventing and exposing public sector corruption and police misconduct. We do this by:

  • investigating corruption and police misconduct
  • informing the public sector, police and the community about the risks and impacts of corruption and police misconduct, and ways in which it can be prevented.

The Senior Strategic Policy and Research Officer is responsible for research, strategic policy development and report writing in response to contemporary and emerging corruption and police misconduct issues and risks. The role will be responsible for coordinating and delivering work across the Prevention Policy and Research Unit's three primary areas of activity:

  • coordinating advice from a range of internal and external stakeholders to develop robust policy responses to corruption and police misconduct risks identified through IBAC's expository and prevention activities
  • planning, management and delivery of strategic research and audit projects
  • preparation of reports for publication on the outcomes of IBAC's projects and investigations.

The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong research, communication and interpersonal skills. Substantial experience in a policy and/or research is required. A sound understanding of the public sector and police operating environments and associated corruption and misconduct risks is desirable.
