About us

VAGO play a key role in holding the public sector to account by reviewing how effectively agencies deliver services and use public funds. We positively affect the lives of Victorians by examining government entities' effectiveness, reporting on inefficiencies, and recommending how to improve future performance.

About the roles

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategy and Business Innovation, these roles will deliver a range of business support services and change projects across the following areas:

  • Your assigned business unit's audit and non-audit operations including reporting, budget management, procurement, relationship management, project management, executive support
  • Your assigned business unit's contribution to organisation planning, control frameworks, reporting and systems
  • Working with senior stakeholders to determine and deliver on business and operational requirements
  • Actively pursue business improvement activities to enable more efficient and effective business support to streamline processes and improve staff and clients' experience
  • On occasion you will also be afforded the opportunity to support other business units as needed

About you

You're likely to come from a background as a business analyst, or from strategic executive support, project management or similar roles.

You have developed and maintained intermediate Office 365 skills including Sharepoint, Word, Power BI and Powerpoint. If you also have expert Excel skills, your candidacy will be favourably considered.

You'll have a track record of effective and efficient management of the operations and governance of a busy and high performance business unit.

Your well-developed technical and problem-solving abilities are paired with strong communication skills. These allow you to communicate simply, effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of professionals to achieve your objectives.

You'll need a Diploma level education or above in business, finance or similar, or otherwise have substantial experience in a similar role.

Experience in an audit environment isn't required, but it would be a bonus!
