Manager, Carbon Innovation

The position of Manager, Carbon Innovation forms a part of the Resources, Forestry & Game Branch within the Rural & Regional Victoria Group.

The Manager, Carbon Innovation is responsible for leading the implementation of the Victorian Government's Statement on Future Uses of Brown Coal, which commits to utilising our brown coal resources in a manner that maximises its long-term value for Victorians and is consistent with our economic, social and environmental priorities, while promoting jobs and investment. 

The Manager, Carbon Innovation will engage with a range of stakeholders, communities, and project proponents, providing facilitation support as appropriate. The position will also be required to undertake a range of technical and economic assessments on proposed projects and new technologies, providing advice to government and senior decision makers within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement strategies to develop new carbon technologies in Victoria, including utilising coal and biomass to create value-added products such as hydrogen and other fuels, graphenes, fertilisers and industrial chemicals.
