Social Work -  Team Leader

 Permanent Full Time – 80 hours per fortnight

Classification: Allied Health Discipline Grade 4

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021

MDHS is looking for an experienced social worker to join the team in Community Services as Health Wellbeing Team Leader!  MDHS Community Services has recently undergone a restructure and as a result this exciting opportunity is on offer.  In this role you will be responsible for leading a multidisciplinary Health and Wellbeing Team at MDHS. 

We are looking for someone with the following qualities:

  • Sound knowledge of Community Health Service
  • Ability to undertake and lead the team in quality activities

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Allied Health qualification (e.g. Social Worker, AOD worker) or equivalent
  2. Eligibility for practising membership, including registration with relevant professional association
  3. Broad clinical background and at least five years' experience
  4. Current driver's licence

 Specialist Expertise

  1. Skills and expertise in leading small teams to achieve their optimal efficiency and effectiveness
  2. Sound knowledge of Community Health Services
  3. Recognition of possible challenges and strategies in order to work effectively in a community setting, to achieve best client outcomes
  4. Understanding and commitment to person-centred care and the principles of self-management
  5. Computer skills

Personal Qualities

  1. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  2. Ability to communicate and advocate in a timely and effective manner with clients, their families/ carers and other health professionals
  3. Understanding and commitment to person-centred care and the principles of self-management
