Occupational Therapist – Wellness and Reablement Team

Permanent Part Time – 32 hours per fortnight

Classification: Occupational therapist Grade 2

Award: Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2021

The Wellness and Reablement team is a new team that has been formed to support our residents and MDHS Residential Aged Care Services. The Occupational Therapist is an integral member of this team and reports the Director of Clinical and Quality Services. The position is part of a multi-disciplinary Team, delivering services across the three MDHS campuses and surrounding catchment.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Qualifications / Experience

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification to work as an Occupational Therapist.
  2. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Specialist Expertise

  1. Knowledge and ability to conduct evidence based Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
  2. Demonstrated experience and/or passion for service innovation and improvement.
  3. Skills in evaluating program effectiveness for continual improvement.
  4. Demonstrated evidence of commitment to ongoing education and professional development to ensure working within current scope of practice.
  5. Understanding of and experience in providing client centred care in an aged setting or with clients who are elderly.
  6. Commitment and practice that reflects client-centred and evidence-based practice.

Personal Qualities

  1. Excellent written and verbal communication, including computer skills.
