Position Details

About You

You are a passionate frontend web developer, someone who can see the big picture while having mastery of details. You are a self-starter and an excellent communicator, and you love taking initiative and pioneering new and creative ideas. Importantly, you're a team player who is driven and passionate about all things web design.

Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will make significant technical contribution to the development of web applications used in emergency management systems across Victoria.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate with some solid technical skills who knows their way around a supervised learning problem and finds the intersection of web apps and emergency management to be a tantalisingly exciting prospect.

Essential:

  • A strong understanding of HTML, CSS/SCSS, Bootstrap, modern JS and TypeScript, and modern frontend. development and build tools (Webpack, Babel, ESLint, Prettier, etc.).
  • Strong development background in .Net Core, C#, Entity Framework Core and SQL databases.
  • Experience using frameworks such as AngularJS, Vue.js, React or similar.
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) strategies and software, particularly Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions (or similar), in the context of working within an agile software application development team.
  • UX Experience, wireframes, mock-ups and story boarding.
  • Excellent communication skills and team attitude.
  • A passion for the web and an eye for detail.
  • A portfolio of web development work.

Desirable:

  • Experience with AngularJS 12+ specifically.
  • Familiarity with interface design  and wireframe tools such as Figma.
  • Exposure to Azure cloud platform (App Services, App Functions, DevOps).
  • A link to your GitHub/GitLab repo and/or portfolio in your covering letter.

Nice to have:

  • Experience building JAMstack sites.
  • Experience building mobile apps (specifically using Xamarin).
  • Experience with GraphQL.
  • Contributions to open source projects are favourably looked upon.

This is a fixed term position available for 18 months.
