Your new role:

We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Legal and Compliance Team as Paralegal on a Full-time Permanent Ongoing basis. Reporting to the Director Public Law, External Oversight & Policy, the role will be responsible for providing legal administrative and office support for the six units within the Legal & Compliance teams.

Duties include:

  • Providing administrative legal support to the Legal & Compliance teams to assist with the provision of legal and compliance services including support in relation to IBAC examinations, managing IBAC registers and databases, compliance activities (such as inspections, audits) liaising and coordinating with other IBAC business units.
  • Acting as a key liaison with the Victorian Inspectorate; preparing, administering and delivering correspondence to the Victorian Inspectorate.
  • Coordinating the publication of the Legal & Compliance team policies, procedures and templates and maintaining the Legal Division's SharePoint site.
  • Supporting the Legal & Compliance teams functions, maintaining registers of legal advice, as well as compliance activities and FOI requests, generating various reports, including finance and performance reports for presentation to the IBAC Executive.
  • Providing general administrative legal and compliance support;

Our requirements / Your skill set:

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • Experience in providing legal administrative support to a senior manager and legal practitioners/officers in a confidential environment.
  • Excellent computer and data management skills in order to maintain various IT Systems, registers interpret data, manage databases, generate reports.
  • Attention to detail, excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Liaising and co-ordinating with internal and external stakeholders
